A former Wisconsin patrolman has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for sexually assaulting a teenager placed in his home for foster care.
Green County Circuit Judge Thomas Vales sentenced James M. Norquay on Thursday on six counts of sexual assault against a child. Vale imposed a 35 year prison sentence on each count to run concurrently with each other. Norquay will serve at least 20 years in prison, but he could serve the remainder on parole.
Norquay was convicted in November 2011 after prosecutors said he had sexual intercourse with a 15 year old girl placed in his home for foster care in 2008.

When I was talking to Brewers general manager Doug Melvin today about a story on Prince Fielder's free agency, he confirmed that his team's payroll currently projects to exceed $100 million, which would be a club record.
The Brewers began the 2011 season with a payroll of about $90 million, which increased to about $95 million by the end of the year. The $100 million projection includes players under control who have yet to sign contracts for 2012.
"We're way over what we projected our budget to be at this point," said Melvin. "It's over $100 million. We hoped to be in the low 90s."
Gov. Scott Walker is expected to announce new reforms to Shorts Ladies Sale the state's education system at a conference in Milwaukee Thursday.

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has awarded the Tops Gymnastics Madison Metropolitan School District a $20,000 Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse prevention grant.
The grant funds will allow MMSD staff to further implement the Second Step curriculum for social emotional learning, train security officers and other staff to recognize behaviors of students under the influence of alcohol and other drugs, improve communication and collaboration with local alcohol and drug use and abuse treatment service providers, and better support parents and families.

The Spectrum Brands Holdings headquarters will be moving from Coast To Coast Madison's far west side to Middleton, according to a news release on Spectrum's website.
In addition to its headquarters, the company will also relocate several North American divisional operations and its technology center, in all totaling more than 500 full time employees, to a more economical and energy efficient facility in the Discovery Springs area of Middleton.
The backstory of Benedict Sedivy emerged during his preliminary hearing in Florence County on Tuesday, the Daily News reports.

Manitowoc Striking machinists at The Manitowoc Company will vote Thursday on a settlement offer.
The company says a tentative agreement has been reached with the bargaining committee of the International Association of Machinists Local 516 on all issues. About 200 machinists went on strike Nov. 15. A main disagreement is the company's proposal to let Manitowoc Cranes machinists decide whether they want to be in the union.
WOMT radio reported that the latest proposal gives returning machinists seven days to decide whether to pay union dues and that the company would continue to recognize Local 516 as the machinists' representative, whether they're members or not.
